The legendary one-act ballet "Carmen Suite" with the participation of stars of the Mariinsky Theater of St. Petersburg.

 

There is a happy coincidence of circumstances, when at one point all the most talented converges. The long-standing dream of Maya Plisetskaya was supported by composer Rodion Shchedrin, choreographer Alberto Alonso, and conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky.

 

In 1967, one of the most inspired ballets of the twentieth century, Carmen-Suite, was born. Clouds over the production have thickened such that they almost crushed talented work. The uncompromising persistence of Maya Plisetskaya and ... time helped. Time puts everything in its place.

 

Nowadays the brightest ballet stars from the theaters of St. Petersburg pay tribute to the memory of the great ballerina with their performance. Touching the repertoire of Maya Plisetskaya, prominent artists decided not to limit themselves to the capital's triumph. We, however, have been incredibly lucky that in November in the cities of North America we can simultaneously recall both the legendary Plisetskaya and enjoy first-hand the delightful art of modern ballet masters.
